NHTSA has 1 recall campaign on file for the 2025 Indian Motorcycle SCOUT. Every repair below is free at a franchised dealer, by federal law.

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECU/ECM):SOFTWARE

Campaign 24V970000 · reported Dec 23, 2024

Indian Motorcycle Company (Indian) is recalling certain 2025 Scout and Scout Sixty motorcycles. Please see the recall report for a complete list of affected trims. The gear position display may falsely show that the motorcycle is in neutral. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 123, "Motorcycle Controls and Displays."

Risk: The motorcycle may move unexpectedly when the transmission is actually in gear, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will update the Engine Control Module (ECM) software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 29, 2025. Owners may contact Indian customer service at 1-877-204-3697. Indian's number for this recall is I-24-11.
